Gil Beverly is Titans new vice president of brand, marketing and communication

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans quietly hired Gil Beverly in February for a newly created post: vice president of brand, marketing and communication.GilBeverlyUse

His “soft launch” allowed him to more quietly observe the team and assess things as he began to chart a course to help alter the team’s appearance and image.

"What intrigued me about this opportunity was Amy Adams Strunk’s overall vision for the franchise," Beverly said. "She has an intense focus on building 24-7-365 relationships with fans throughout Tennessee, the broader mid-south region and increasingly around the world.

"With this in mind, she has brought together a talented group of people that is dedicated to living into this vision by delivering consistent, high-quality multimedia content and impactful experiences all year round. [Unlocked]

"Whether it’s at Nissan Stadium, on television, through social media channels or whatever is coming next, the goal is to engage and entertain our fans in new and compelling ways. My role is to help maintain and accelerate the terrific momentum in these areas that began under Amy’s leadership."

Before joining the team, he was vice president of partnership solutions for Learfield IMG-College. He managed development of marketing and sponsorship programs across over 200 collegiate athletics department and other related sports properties, including partnerships with Allstate, Nissan and State Farm.

Strunk told me a bit about him at the recent owners’ meetings in Phoenix.

I spent some time chatting with Beverly in Phoenix and think he will definitely add something different to the organization.

Behind ownership, the team has four executives at the top: President and CEO Steve Underwood, executive VP and general manager Jon Robinson, senior VP and CFO Jenneen Kaufman and senior VP and chief revenue officer Stuart Spears.

Beverly becomes the team's seventh vice president.
