YAZOO PODCAST: Titans' views from Peter King, Chris Simms and Albert Breer

PHEONIX  -- The front of the Arizona Biltmore is very long, with the media area at one end, the conference center where the big meetings were held in the middle and the hotel at the other end, with the bar, restaurants and some nice outdoor space where people hung out during free time.

PodcastYazooArtSquare

I made that walk, like a lot of media, a number of times during the NFL owners' meetings, as it's where you maximize your chances to run into coaches, executives and media friends.

And a few times I came across colleagues in the national media who I respect and who were willing to share a few minutes.

While I am not always giant on national perspective on local events, I know you like hear it. So I gathered thoughts on what the Titans have done since the new league year started. This week's podcast features my chats with Peter King of NBC Sports, Chris Simms of Pro Football Talk and Albert Breer of Monday Morning Quarterback/ Sports Illustrated.

YAZOO PODCAST: Titans' free-agent/trade review

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Whoever the Titans add with veteran experience going forward will be a bonus, and the expectations for how they impact the lineup and the roster will be a lot smaller than those for the three free agents that came in early.

In the newest edition of the podcast, I review the additions of Rodger Saffold, Cameron Wake and Adam Humphries as well as the trade acquisition of backup quarterback of Ryan Tannehill.

INDIANAPOLIS -- How will first-round quarterbacks affect the Titans in the first round? How hard is it to plug them in given the lack of QB needy teams in the top five? With 13 high-quality defensive front players, how likely are the Titans to land one they want?

PodcastYazooArt

I delve into that and how little Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel really said at the NFL scouting combine, even as we had fun interviews with both on The Midday 180 on Radio Row at the NFL scouting combine. Here's Robinson and here is Vrabel

YAZOO PODCAST: The Titans' five worst contracts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Odds are you can guess what I'd rate as the Titans' worst contract.

But how about the franchise's five worst/most troublesome contracts? I talk through all the contract details and hash them out along with playing time, statistical production, Pro Football Focus grades, and where their salaries rank on the team and in the league.

I'd love to hear your feedback and perhaps we'll have some debate about my placement.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- I've been wanting to do this one for a while, as putting Marcus Mariota into context is a mission of mine.

YAZOO PODCAST: What can Marcus Mariota withstand and how Brett Kern showed me a bit of the Titans' special ingredient

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- To me, the question isn't so much is Marcus Mariota starts as if he finishes.

Madison Blevins and I discuss that as well as some offensive improvements for the better since the first Colts-Titans game, the penalty problem from that game, Adoree Jackson's struggle in Game One vs. T.Y. Hilton, the Nissan Stadium field after the bowl game, Ryan Succop's recent PAT trouble and how, on the same topic, Brett Kern showed me a bit of one of the Titans' special ingredients.

YAZOO PODCAST: Derrick Henry nears 1,000, impact of others' injuries on Malcolm Butler and Rashaan Evans, Hall of Fame cut-downs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Welcome, welcome. welcome. It's time for this week's edition of the podcast.

PodcastYazooArtSquare

I discuss Derrick Henry and Corey Davis approaching 1,000 yards and their team-first feel about the marks as well as Dean Pees' formula for drives without explosive plays and penalties.

I also hit Malcolm Butler's readiness for a bigger role with Logan Ryan out for the season injured, what the absence of Brian Orakpo and Sharif Finch at outside linebacker this week may mean for Rashaan Evans and what I was thinking as I cut down my Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot from 25 to 15.
