NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- This week's podcast, brought to you by the fine folks at Yazoo, is a one-for-all affair.

Get smart, quick hits on predetermined throws, Taywan Taylor's workload, the Titans being run-heavy on first down, the path to beating the Jaguars and the light blue jerseys all in one listen.

Plus, a great lifehack I've adopted that helps me circumvent my iPhone's prudish autocorrecting.

It's what I like to call good stuff.

Hit it here on iTunes.

YAZOO PODCAST: Mike Herndon discusses Marcus Mariota's timing, Quinton Spain's great start, much more

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- We tend to split writers into mainstream and non-mainstream baskets, but I am not sure that's the best way to break us down, at least when it comes to football writers.

In my eyes, a reporter like me with access and credentials brings a lot, but a fan with a solid football background in 2018 can certainly offer some excellent breakdowns and analysis.PodcastYazooArtSquare

We really supplement each other.  I am a fan of much that I read from places like Music City Miracles (though I object when some write under a pseudonym.) If you're not familiar with Mike Herndon's work, you should be.

We joined me for this week's edition of the podcast.

We discuss Quinton Spain as the Titans' best offensive lineman in Miami, the Derrick Henry-Dion Lewis backfield, less-than-stellar tight-end blocking, the playoff hit rate of 0-2 teams, camera angles, paying it backwards, the potential for Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry to make an impact against Houston, and, of course, Marcus Mariota's timing.

(I previously wrote Kevin Spain. He's an old friend in the business. My apologies.)

YAZOO PODCAST: Burning questions before the Titans get started

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Who's the slot receiver? Who's covering the slot receiver? Can the Titans rush the passer likely down two key guys?

BlevinsPodcast

In this week's edition of the podcast, Madison Blevins guided me through a conversation about the big questions I want the answers to in the Titans' season opener Sunday in Miami.

We also hit on my expectation for in-season injury news, the potential for roster-alteration next week, Nike's big move, offensive precision and a team theme from Matt LaFleur.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Preseason game performance meant even less than we may have thought.

I discuss that and answer a bunch of your questions from cut-down day in this week's edition of the podcast.

Who's on shaky ground? Who's the No. 1 guy I think they should chase who's been let go elsewhere? What are their top weaknesses? Why can't they find special teams guys who are better at their positions on defense?

This week the pod is all public.

You can find it on iTunes, here, or directly through the Vokal website, here. Feel free to hook us up with a rating and review on iTunes.

YAZOO PODCAST: On Marcus Mariota's modesty, Rishard Matthews' extension and Nashville's Bird scooters

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- We've got two preseason games and about two and a half weeks between us and truly meaningful football.

BlevinsPodcast

In this week's edition of the podcast, Madison Blevins guided me through a conversation about Titans injuries including Rashaan Evans status and the contingency plans if he's not ready, yet another example of modest Marcus Mariota and the weird contract extension for Rishard Matthews.

YAZOO PODCAST: One Titan who's gotten a bit of a pass so far

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Camp is technically over, which begged for a podcast review, so here we are.

Thanks to Madison Blevins who rejoined me after some time apart to help steer the conversation.BlevinsPodcast

We hit on some of the best stuff I saw at training camp practices, the way Mike Evans and Jason Pierre-Paul reacted to the Titans during the joint practices, the defensive backs against much better talent than the Titans have, the progression of the screen game under Matt LaFleur and a bit of a free pass Blaine Gabbert is getting right now.

YAZOO PODCAST: What I like about the Titans a week into camp and a defense of The Kissing Booth

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A week into Tennessee Titans training camp and a year since the start of this site, I reunited with Madison Blevins to talk some football.

BlevinsPodcast

What's been the most encouraging thing about Matt LaFleur's offense? What's with Marcus Mariota's inconsistency? And what's my defense for liking the Netflix Original movie The Kissing Booth?

There is a lot to flesh out for this team, still. But right now I'm not sure what the big worry is beyond wide receiver talent and depth.

YAZOO PODCAST: Evan Silva on the most predictive Marcus Mariota stat

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Evan Silva, Rotoworld's senior football editor, provides the best weekly fantasy football matchup column there is.

He goes well beyond the basics, pointing to updated snaps counts for ball-carriers and targets and the important developments on the defense they will face. These files are as effective at scouting reports as they are for fantasy advice.

PodcastYazooArt

I visited with Silva for this week's podcast and we fleshed out his Titans' offseason lowdowns column and more.

He's been covering the NFL in this fashion for 10-11 years and said he's never been as optimistic about the Titans as he is now. We cover the likelihood the Titans throw to the backs a lot more, the division of labor between Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis, his comp for Corey Davis, the game speed of Taywan Taylor and Delanie Walker, Malcolm Butler's place in the Titans secondary and the one predictive stats that bodes best for Marcus Mariota.

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- We have very little access to the view from the inside, so any conversation with Blake Beddingfield is enlightening.

He was part of 19 Tennessee Titans drafts, the last six as college scouting director.

PodcastYazooArt

And so for this week's podcast, we covered some super-insider territory, starting with a discussion of last week's guest, Samari Rolle, and the best cornerbacks who've played for the Titans.

Then Beddingfield gave us two excellent lists: The three best workouts he attended of players the Titans drafted and the three guys he misread the most as college prospects who landed in Tennessee.

In between the two of those he shared the comps the team had for the three first-round quarterbacks drafted during his tenure: Vince Young, Jake Locker and Marcus Mariota.

YAZOO PODCAST: Samari Rolle remembers tight-knit Titans vs. 'polarizing personalities' on Ravens

YAZOO podcast stripeNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When you ask me about my favorite guys to cover on the Titans, Samari Rolle is always near the top of the list.

He visited with me from Florida for this week's podcast, where he corrects my pronunciation of

Ocala, a city in his state, and I correct his pronunciation of Kevin Byard's last name.

PodcastYazooArt

We cover the difference between the Titans and Ravens teams he played on, he shares the story of the one time he lost his head, he recalls when he learned that a co-catch meant a reception for a receiver, talks of his love for Marshon Lattimore and runs through his thoughts on Malcolm Butler and Mickey Andrews. And those are just the things I managed to write down.
