NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- After Covid-19 and construction kept fans out of Tennessee Titans' training camp practices the last two years, this year's summer schedule will include open practices at their headquarters.

The official schedule will be released sometime in the coming weeks. Players report to training camp on July 26.

The team has traditionally held a training camp practice or two at Nissan Stadium and even at a local high school. [Unlocked]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ryan Tannehill has a regular season to play, with less explosive weaponry than he’s had in the past and protection that remains a question.

Perhaps as a group, Robert Woods, Austin Hooper and Treylon Burks do better to offset A.J Brown seems reasonable to expect right now.

And perhaps Aaron Brower makes up for his lack of size with his speed and smarts as first in line to replace Rodger Saffold at left guard and Dillon Radunz grows to live up to his draft slot at right tackle, or third-rounder Nicholas Petit-Frere passes him and upgrades the spot and the line is solidified.

There are question marks for sure, but the AFC South is still not strong, Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee defense are and this team will have a path.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tight ends, receivers and quarterbacks lined up not far from a goal line and took instruction from Todd Downing, the coordinator spelling out how things would work.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Good for Jeffery Simmons that he didn’t hide from questions at the Titans' mandatory minicamp.

Bad for Simmons that it amounted to wading through quicksand and brought no clarity to his situation.

His position coach said that Simmons is not hurt and both Terrell Williams and Mike Vrabel said Simmons was doing what the Titans have asked him to do, which amounts to heavy film work and a bit of conditioning.

We do not know for sure because the team, as usual, and Simmons prefer to leave huge space for speculation rather than offering something simple that few would have objections to. [Unlocked]

Austin Hooper: The Titans only went a year thinking they could make things work without a legitimate No. 1 tight end, but somehow it feels like longer since Jonnu Smith left.

You never want to overread anything in OTAs where there is no jamming or contact. But just on size and presence, Hooper can clearly play the part. At 6-foot-4, 254 pounds he’s got a bit of a size edge on Smith (6-3, 248) but he looks longer for sure.
