NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- DeAndre Hopkins suffered a strained knee injury Wednesday and indications are he could miss four to six weeks.
The veteran Titans receiver is a key part of the team's offense.
Last season he led the team with 75 catches, 1,057 yards and seven touchdown catches.
If he returns to action after four weeks he'd have a full week to prepare for the season-opener in Chicago. Six weeks out would mean he'd miss the Bears' game and could be ready just before the Week Two home opener against the Jets. Though a precautious six weeks out could mean two games missed.
The Titans added Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd and free agents and with Hopkins have what looks to be the best-receiving trio in their Tennessee history.
In his absence, the Titans will turn to Treylon Burks, the 2022 first-round pick who has not yet lived up to his billing.
I watched Hopkins leave the field late in practice Wednesday with the Titans' top medical guy, Todd Torischelli. But he had no discernible limp and I figured he was leaving for treatment, which he may have been.
