NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Awaiting camp there is reason for confidence at some spots and concern at others for the Titans.

I thought it would be a good time to run through a positional confidence index, from best to worst.Bud Dupree

1) Outside linebacker – Bud Dupree (pictured) and Harold Landry are excellent pieces of the front four and while Denico Autry starts off inside in base he’s technically an OLB who works out of their position room. The depth after that isn’t great, with Rashad Weaver as a bit of a wild card. But the depth doesn’t matter so much when the top three cover so many snaps. If they stay healthy, they are elite as a trio and they will be on the field together in pass-rush situations.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- After Covid-19 and construction kept fans out of Tennessee Titans' training camp practices the last two years, this year's summer schedule will include open practices at their headquarters.

The official schedule will be released sometime in the coming weeks. Players report to training camp on July 26.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ryan Tannehill has a regular season to play, with less explosive weaponry than he’s had in the past and protection that remains a question.

Perhaps as a group, Robert Woods, Austin Hooper and Treylon Burks do better to offset A.J Brown seems reasonable to expect right now.Ryan Tannehill

And perhaps Aaron Brower makes up for his lack of size with his speed and smarts as first in line to replace Rodger Saffold at left guard and Dillon Radunz grows to live up to his draft slot at right tackle, or third-rounder Nicholas Petit-Frere passes him and upgrades the spot and the line is solidified.

There are question marks for sure, but the AFC South is still not strong, Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee defense are and this team will have a path.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- We've made it to another weekend and this one came fast for me. Hope it was similar for you.

Please do not be alarmed. This coyote is one of a small team assigned to keep geese away from the Titans' practice fields, as they border a small lake in MetroCenter. He did not bother me as I approached.

Let's dig into a few questions on your mind as the team heads into quiet time.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tight ends, receivers and quarterbacks lined up not far from a goal line and took instruction from Todd Downing, the coordinator spelling out how things would work.

The installation period at Tuesday’s minicamp practice was like many the Titans run at practices.

Ryan Tannehill

While Downing spoke, Mike Vrabel interjected and before words were put into practice, Ryan Tannehill also delivered a message about how things should play out.

Then for maybe 10 minutes, the Titans' passing offense worked on one very specific thing – how two routes on the same side of the field combined in the red zone.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Good for Jeffery Simmons that he didn’t hide from questions at the Titans' mandatory minicamp.

Bad for Simmons that it amounted to wading through quicksand and brought no clarity to his situation.

Jeffery Simmons

His position coach said that Simmons is not hurt and both Terrell Williams and Mike Vrabel said Simmons was doing what the Titans have asked him to do, which amounts to heavy film work and a bit of conditioning.

We do not know for sure because the team, as usual, and Simmons prefer to leave huge space for speculation rather than offering something simple that few would have objections to. [Unlocked]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Derrick Henry is known for the crazy array of elements that comprise his incredible workout

He was in his regular place at the front of the line of Tennessee Titans running backs at the first of three scheduled mandatory minicamp practices Tuesday, and spoke to the press for the first time since the team blew the AFC’s No 1 seed and home-field advantage in the divisional round of the playoffs.

While he said the work has really been the same stuff, he has been working with the guy who did the surgery that repaired the Jones fracture in his right foot, inserting a metal plate and screws.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Through his three seasons playing for the Titans, A.J. Brown’s best skill was making explosive plays in the Tennessee passing game.

Since then, it’s been being a baby/diva on social media.

The receiver, now a member of the Eagles, got into a Twitter exchange in which he pronounced himself the team’s best receiver ever.

A.J. Brown

From @ESPNNFL

He said franchise. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he’s talking Titans and not Oilers/Titans, removing some awfully good run-and-shoot receivers in Ernest Givens, Drew Hill and Haywood Jeffries and two from earlier in Houston Oiler history, Ken Burrough and Charley Hennigan.
