NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Bryce Wasserman’s altered role in the Titans' front office came with an altered title. After the president of football operations Chad Brinker left the franchise, Wasserman moved from chief of staff in the football administration department to football counsel/ head of research.
But the head of research role doesn’t leave him in charge of the research and development department, where director Sarah Bailey left. Coordinator Erin Psajdi Davis and football data analyst Alex Rogers remain.
In fact, the Titans have differentiated Wasserman’s research role from the research and development department, which has been renamed strategy and analytics. It’s unclear if Bailey will be replaced.
In the readjusted structure, no one reports to Wasserman, Amy Adams Strunk’s son-in-law. Strategy and analytics reports to new Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Dave Gardi.
Wasserman’s research is specific to Mike Borgonzi. It crosses into multiple departments – including salary cap, scouting and analytics and includes studying trends and markets for trades, contract extensions and free agency.
One specific responsibility is the handling of trade value charts during the draft.
