EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – The Titans were poised for a signature moment from their young quarterback that would have splashed itself all over the whole team, its new coach, his new coordinator.
But a would-be touchdown turned into a game-sealing interception for the Giants, who clinched a 12-7 win in the rain and dropped Tennessee to 0-3.
Groups of players were still huddling and sorting through things more than is typical once the hushed locker room opened to media.
“We got to do it,” Jeffery Simmons said. “We got to do it, man. I'm tired of saying the same thing to you guys. We can continue to say the tide turns. We have to do it. We continue to go out there and not doing enough to win football games.”
