Despite intense negativity surrounding the Titans franchise as a whole, Mike Borgonzi’s rare solo press conference following the trade deadline this week was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. 

Sure, some of that is likely due to Borgonzi being the one piece of Titans leadership who cannot be directly held responsible for many of the atrocities of the past few seasons. It’s also because the Titans finally put someone in front of a camera who didn’t come off as immediately defensive, evasive, or scolding when confronted with tough questions.

There was no shifting of responsibility, no patronization of fans and media, and no excuse-making. Borgonzi, instead, came across as earnest, honest, and realistic about the challenge before him.
