In what must have felt like a very therapeutic win for everyone in the organization, from the owner on down, the Titans showed perseverance and progress in knocking off the division-leading Texans 32-27 in Houston on Sunday. This result happened despite allowing eight sacks, an 80-yard kickoff return, and turning the ball over three times, including a 65-yard pick-six, which is pretty stunning.
Over the last 25 years, NFL teams that allow at least eight sacks in a game have a combined record of 11-98 (a winning percentage of 10 percent).
Over the last 25 years, NFL teams who turn the ball over three or more times in a game are a combined 581-2,325-4 (a winning percentage of 20 percent).
Over the last 25 years, NFL teams with an interception returned for a touchdown against them are a combined 274-901 (a winning percentage of 23.3 percent).
Teams who do all of those things in the same game have won just twice (the 2001 Jaguars beat the Browns 15-10 in the other game that met all three of those criteria) in the past 25 years.
