The Titans have yet to cover a kickoff return through two games, leaving opponents with the NFL’s worst average post-kickoff starting position

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Joey Slye’s spiral turnover kickoff has the Titans' special teams spiraling in the wrong direction.
Through two games, the Titans have kicked off seven times and the Jets and Eagles haven’t returned one, which is not what Tennessee wants.
“We need to get better at it,” Robert Saleh said. “We need to make teams return the kick, we need to cover kicks, we need to find ways to create advantageous situations coming off a kickoff. … We're always trying to make them return it. Always.”
In seven chances, Slye has put four kicks into the end zone for touchbacks – three landed in the end zone creating touchbacks at the 35 and one bounced in creating a touchback at the 20. He put the season-opening kickoff out of bounds for a penalty that positioned New York at the 40. He landed a ball against the Eagles short of the landing zone, putting Philadelphia at the 40. And he attempted an onside kick at the end of Week One.
