L'Jarius SneedWhile L'Jarius Sneed waits to see if a grand jury indicts him on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon connected to an alleged shooting on Dec. 6, 2024, his attorney has denied the claims against him in a related civil suit.

The criminal charge has been officially filed, but no date has been set yet for the grand jury hearing in Dallas County, Texas.

The next step in the civil suit is a June 2 hearing.

Christian Nshimiyimana seeks over $1 million in compensatory damages, fees and relief for infliction of bodily injury (though there were no reported gunshot wounds), threat of bodily injury, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil conspiracy and negligence.

Sneed said if anything happened, it was all the doing of the person with him, who is characterized by Nshimiyimana's attorney, Levi McCathern II, as Sneed's "personal assistant."

“Defendant is not liable as alleged by Plaintiff because the alleged conduct was the criminal act of a third party," Sneed's lawyer, Michael J. Todd wrote in the Defendant’s Original Answer dated April 21. "The alleged acts, if any, were performed by John Doe without any assistance, encouragement, or direction by L’Jarius Sneed.”Todd also said that Doe was not acting as Sneed's "personal assistant, employee agent or in any capacity at any time." The Associated Press originally reported the civil suit on April 11. The police report AP cited and one I obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request were both heavily redacted.

Nshimiyimana’s suit alleges that he, Sneed and Doe all visited One Legacy Motors at the same time and later, Sneed and Doe pulled up next to the dealership in a rented Lamborghini Urus and shot multiple times at Nshimiyimana in a parked Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, one of the dealership's parked automobiles. The G-Wagon and One Legacy Motors were both struck by bullets, the suit claims.

The paperwork includes what McCathern says is a photo from surveillance video of an arm holding what appears to be a gun sticking out of an SUV.

The Titans began Phase Two of organized training activities on Monday. Sneed was visible in a video the team posted Tuesday of a tug of war.
