NASHVILLE, Tenn. – So Mike Vrabel did clever work to fend it off.
During his appearance on “Bussin’ with the Boys,” the fun podcast hosted by Taylor Lewan and Will Compton he said lazy reporters were bound to pick up something from it and make it a story.
Then on the episode, where a generally unguarded guy was even more unguarded, he said something that he was absolutely worthy of being picked up and written about. [Unlocked]
And that, by the way, is just what Lewan and Compton should want as they seek to gain subscribers and attention while growing their product.
Here is the conversation of note, that’s a joke of course but also tells us just how badly Vrabel wants to coach the Titans to a Super Bowl win.
Lewan: Matt Neely (an assistant for the show) said he would cut off his dick for a, uno, Super Bowl, and I said No I would not do that. Would you cut your dick off for a super bowl?
Vrabel: Been married 20 years. Yeah, probably.
Lewan: You’ve got three?!
Vrabel: As a player.... You guys will be married for 20 years one day. You won’t need it.
Lewan: If you come home with a bag of ice, and Jen is like ‘Oh honey what did you do.’ I cut …my dick off, we’re gonna win a Super Bowl, she’d be like “eh,” or would she be upset?
Vrabel: She’d be like do you want me to do it? Do you want to do it now?
I’ll venture a guess that no other coach in the NFL would speak this freely and casually and let us see him do it with a current and former player.
And it’s absolutely great.
