NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Chad Brinker’s been pretty free about what he likes in cornerbacks and it starts with 72 inches.
Sure, there are successful covermen around the NFL who are not 6-feet tall. The Titans' starting lineup already features two effective sub-6-foot corners: fifth-round find Jarvis Brownlee (5-11) and their preferred nickel, Roger McCreary (5-11).

Given a choice, however, Brinker typically leaned to 6-foot-tall corners. He adopted that from the Packers, for whom he worked for 13 years. Of the last seven corners drafted by Green Bay, four are at least 6 feet; for the Titans, it’s been two of seven – the 6-2 Caleb Farley and the 6-0 LeShaun Sims, players Brinker had no hand in choosing.
But Brinker’s view on corner height has changed since he worked with the GM he hired in January, Mike Borgonzi.
