We got off to a rough start here with two NFL losses and a college push. I also missed on my prediction of a three-interception game for the Titans.
Is that going to stop me from telling you about things I expect to happen this weekend? Hell no. But we might frame things a bit differently.
So here goes:
Game of the week
49ers +2.5 vs. Giants
The Giants have a win, but they are not so much better than winless San Francisco. It’s the New York locker room that’s had to deal with anonymous quotes bashing the team’s coach this week. Lots of guys said on the record the complaints and accusations are not true. Their play Sunday will show otherwise.
Outlandish call of the week
Le’Veon Bell will go crazy
The Steelers are at the Colts, who just lost one of their best run defenders in Henry Anderson. And the Vontae Davis release has probably been a drain on a struggling team also not fully behind its coach. Against those Colts, Bell will hit or top 200 total yards.
Big Titans prediction for the week
A defense that has not had a three-sack game gets one against a poor Bengals offensive line and Andy Dalton. Maybe I maintain too much faith in the Titans pass rushers and in Dick LeBeau being able to scheme an occasional sack. But I think this team should have at least one such game by accident over the course of the year, and I think it comes this week.
