NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- We've discussed trade-down scenarios involving Abdul Carter and situations in which the Titans avoid a quarterback at the top of round one.

But what if the Titans determine that Cam Ward is their guy and stick and pick him at No. 1?

The ripple effect on their other needs would be dramatic, but the goal of every team without a clear-cut quarterback is to find one. He sure doesn't seem as if he's going to be a Joe Burrow or a Josh Allen, but the right QB dropped into a bad roster, elevates that roster and then a team builds around him.

I don't believe you should wait to build up the right roster before inserting a signal-caller if you've got a chance to bring in the right quarterback before your team is "ready."

That's where this week's edition of The Paul Kuharsky Podcast begins.

It led us to look at how strained the team could be in finding a right tackle in free agency or in the draft if they went edge or receiver in the second round. With the trade down in first round off the table in this draft-Ward scenario, a second-round trade could become a near necessity. On Pro Football Network I got 55, 86 and the Chargers' 2026 second-rounder for the Titans' No. 35 -- with receivers Tre Harris, Isaiah Bond, edge Princely Umanmielen and offensive linemen Emery Jones and Jonah Savaiinaea still on the board.

We also discussed some roster composition numbers from @draftmetrics, such as the number of new players on year-end rosters and the construction of the Titans' roster compared to the Eagles'.
