An early bye week is generally not a good thing on an NFL schedule. Though opinions on the matter may vary slightly, the consensus says that having a later bye week allows for players to recharge and get healthy heading into the stretch run and the playoffs.

That said, I’m not sure the bye week could have come at a better time for the 2024 Tennessee Titans. No, they’re not too banged up – Jeffery Simmons and Chidobe Awuzie are the only current starters who missed their pre-bye game in Miami – but a mental reset for quarterback Will Levis and other struggling members of the offense feels much needed.

I also think it’s fair to say that Brian Callahan getting a week to self-scout and look at some of the things that he needs to adjust as both a play-caller and a head coach is valuable to have now as opposed to later in the season.
