NASHVILLE, Tenn. — I’ll keep this as a live depth chart, updating it regularly as the Titans add players, make cuts and move through free agency, the draft and training camp.

Last updated: May 31

With so many free-agent deals, the depth chart looks far healthier. The desperation at several spots is gone and many of the biggest blanks have been filled.

Here’s my best sketch of the depth chart right now. Rookies are underlined.

Read the first line from left to right, then return to the second line and repeat.

Offense

Titans QB Depth Chart

Cam Ward is the unquestioned starter, and the team signed veteran Mitch Trubisky because of his familiarity with Brian Daboll. Will Levis missed last year after shoulder surgery and could do better with a second shot, but it won't be with the Titans, who are unlikely to keep a third, so Hendon Hooker is also a guy looking to improve his stock in the preseason.

Titans WR Depth Chart

Carnell Tate needs to be the top guy as soon as possible, and Wan'Dale Robinson should be a high-volume weapon from the slot. Calvin Ridley took a pay cut to stay and should start out third with Chim Dike and Elic Ayomanor the fourth and fifth.

Titans RB Depth Chart

Tony Pollard survived the Jeremiyah Love scare, and Tyjae Spears is the No. 2. Fifth-rounder Nick Singleton needs to improve his vision, while veteran Michael Carter and Julius Chestnut will be fighting to force a fourth spot.

Titans TE Depth Chart

Second-year Gunnar Helm is the most well-rounded option and should be at the head of the line, though newcomer Daniel Bellinger got good money and could be first in some bigger blocking situations. They'll be the two-TE set. Jaren Kanak will be given room to develop as a seventh-rounder. Kylen Granson brings some experience and David Martin-Robinson has some organizational investment.

Titans OL Depth Chart

LT Dan Moore, LG Peter Skoronski and RT JC Latham are set. Austin Schlottmann looks like he will be the center and Jackson Slater and Cordell Volson will fight it out for right guard on a line that needs to be better and more consistent.

Defense

Titans DE Depth Chart

The Titans have a lot of guys who can play inside and out, but the core four here should be Jermaine Johnson, Jake Martin, Keldric Faulk and Femi Oladejo. They will roll through players, so it's more about who plays more snaps than who's first. Rookie Faulk and second-year Oladejo need to develop and win time.

Titans DT Depth Chart

The team's best player is Jeffery Simmons, and he got a great new partner in John Franklin-Myers. Behind them is some quality with Solomon Thomas and Jordan Elliott.

Titans LB Depth Chart

As the Titans will be in nickel or dime the vast majority of the time, they'll play two LBs most often. Cedric Gray is the Will and Cody Barton will need to hold off Anthony Hill as the Mike. When they need a strongside guy, all three will likely be on the field.

Titans CB Depth Chart

Both outside starters were free-agent purchases: Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott, with incumbent nickel Marcus Harris in line for the increasingly important role again. Joshua Williams is the chief outside backup where the Titans are thin.

Titans Safety Depth Chart

Kevin Winston and Amani Hooker are the starters, with Tony Harris third and likely to be the big nickel. Depth is an issue to be sorted out.

Titans Specialists

Joey Slye returns to kick and Morgan Cox is his holder, but the Titans switched to punter Tommy Townsend. All-Pro punt returner Chim Dike will try to match or surpass his rookie year.
