NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bobby King, who's coached the Houston Texans inside linebackers for the last four seasons, is in line to replace Jim Haslett in the same post with the Titans.
Haslett was let go three days after the Titans' season ended with an upset at the hands of the Bengals in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. He had one year remaining on his contract.
King was Houston's linebackers coach in 2017 before turning his focus to inside backers and worked with Zach Cunningham, who the Titans claimed off waivers on Dec. 9, 2021. [Unlocked]
Mike Vrabel and Shane Bowen both know King from working with him on the Texans staff under Bill O'Brien in 2017.
Haslett coached the inside linebackers for the last two seasons after replacing Tyrone McKenzie. The two are the only two position coaches Mike Vrabel has fired since becoming coach ios the Titans in 2018.
King has also worked for the Chargers and Cowboys.
A Louisville native, he played defensive line at UTEP where he also began his coaching career before stints at Baylor and West Texas A&M.
