Dan SaganeyNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans are expected to hire Dan Saganey, the Cleveland Browns' director of player personnel, in a high-level scouting role soon.

The move comes as the season for movement on the scouting side of the industry opens up, as contracts typically expire right after the draft/ at the start of May.

Saganey was a manager in the player personnel department who did advance scouting of opponents before he was promoted to director in 2016.

Per Neil Stratton, the Titans recently parted ways with director of scouting AJ Highsmith after just one

season. Jon Salge just finished his eighth season as the team's director of college scouting and Brian Gardner finished his 12th as director of pro scouting.

After hiring Mike Borgonzi in January, the Titans loaded up on experienced personnel men, hiring two former Raiders GMs. Reggie McKenzie is vice president/ football advisor and Dave Ziegler is assistant general manager.

The Titans have at least one other spot to fill. Brandon Taylor, who was scouting the Southeast, left the franchise in January.

Saganey played offensive line at Colby and was an assistant coach at Bentley and Harvard before latching on as a scouting assistant with the Browns, per this piece from centralmaine.com.
