Titans ought to take the ball to start games when they can

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have only won the coin toss a third of the time so far this season, but each time they have elected to defer.

While I understand the philosophy behind the choice and the desire to sandwich two scores and no opponent possession around halftime, it’s not been taking that shape for the Titans.

In Green Bay, the Titans win the toss when Kevin Byard called tails, they deferred, and the Packers engineered an easy touchdown drive to open the game.
