NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Gil Beverly, one of seven people the Titans classified as their executive leadership team, was relieved of his duties within the last two months. He was senior vice president, chief marketing & revenue officer.

The move was first reported by Sportico.

Beverly joined the Titans in 2019 as the franchise's vice president of brand, marketing and communications.

In his team biography, the team credited him with spearheading "innovation, engagement, synergy and new ideas across all areas he oversees"

It's unclear why the team made the move and a team official declined to comment.

"I wish the team well and am looking forward to a great season on and off the field for the franchise," Beverly said by text.

He and Adolpho Birch, the team's senior vice president, business affairs & chief legal officer, were the franchise's top African-American employees until Ran Carthon took on that distinction when he became general manager in January.

Beverly's roles have been redistributed.

Dan Werley -- who was senior vice president, general counsel & chief of staff -- is now senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Kuharsky megaphoneAdam Nuse -- who was senior vice president, business operations -- is now senior vice president and chief revenue officer.

With Werley's altered responsibilities, the team currently has no general counsel. It's unclear if it will fill that post. Team president and CEO Burke Nihil, Birch and Werley are lawyers and Valeria Williams is the team's associate general counsel.

Also, Surf Melendez, the team's vice president & executive creative director, has not seen his title changed but has been removed from the executive leadership section of the team's staff directory.
