NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sunday will be the Titans head coach Brian Callahan’s first time as a head coach and first time as an offensive coordinator and play caller. Those are two major responsibilities and we will watch to see how he handles both duties simultaneously.    

Caleb Williams, the first pick in the 2024 draft, will also have his first start in the NFL.

Since the NFL merger in 1970 quarterbacks selected first overall in the NFL draft have a 4-22-1 record in their first games. David Carr was the last QB to win his opener way back in 2002, the first year of the current divisional format. 

Since then, the first overall picks are 0-8-1 with Kyler Murray getting the tie.
