NASHVILLE, Tenn. – There were some scenarios where they could have gone a different direction, but passing on Cam Ward and moving out of the No. 1 pick in the draft would have been an exceptionally bold move by Chad Brinker and Mike Borgonzi.
 
Ultimately, they will be judged by Ward’s success or failure. His fate may determine their fate. But the quarterback is a long play.

There is another player who will tell us more about them sooner -- about their scouting, about their decision-making, about their problem-solving: Dan Moore.

He is a symbol of the new regime, their move to solve what’s been a terrible problem. While the fan base needs to be patient with Ward’s development, Moore needs to be good starting Sept. 7 in Denver.
