NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It’s a clash of two old AFC division opponents, and very few things have changed.

The Steelers are still built with a tough, physical defense that relies on pass-rush and opportunistic turnovers.

The Titans are built on a physical run game, look to control time of possession with the purpose of staying close enough in games to have the ball last when the game is on the line and use that run game and fresh offense to wear down the opponent.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Arthur Smith has 11 more regular-season games and, he hopes, a three- or four- game playoff run standing between him and a new job.

His work as the Titans offensive coordinator so far make him an appealing candidate for open head coaching jobs. So far the Texans and Falcons will be looking, but others are sure to follow including the Jets and probably the Jaguars with other possibilities.

Even with the long-term commitment, I figured there was regression ahead.

Tannehill was fresh off a season where he joined Joe Montana and Sammy Baugh as the first quarterbacks in league history with a completion percentage over 70 percent and a yards per completion number over 9.

The sack/fumble and interception were turning points in the game for Houston, but this is what a veteran quarterback can do for a team that stays consistent with the play-calling and putting personnel in spots to utilize its skills.

Derrick Henry is the most patient running back in the NFL. This trait goes back to college when he would split time with other first-round running backs. He knows the defenses are keying on him, but if he continues to stay patient, not change up his run style, read the holes and not perceive that there will be traffic. He continues to run hard through the initial line and when there is a crease, he explodes through it.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – This classic would have been even better with an audience, and the soundtrack that would come with the ups and downs and ups of the rollercoaster overtime win that got the Titans to 5-0 and lines them up for a postponed head-to-head with undefeated Pittsburgh Sunday.

The 42-36 win – the 100th for the franchise in the building -- deserves an immediate spot on the list I put together in 2018 of the best games played at what’s now Nissan Stadium.

“It was up there, going to overtime, winning in overtime in the style that we did,” Jadeveon Clowney said. “…Top five in my time since I’ve been in the league.”
