Week 1: Names to Know

The big names in the draft at QB last week did little to improve their stock. Texas’ Arch Manning and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik both struggled mightily. LaNorris Sellers made a few plays but was underwhelming for South Carolina in a win. Clearly, Garrett Nussmeier was the biggest winner after going into Death Valley and slicing up a great Clemson defense.

Ohio State’s win over Texas featured almost too many names to count. The one that made the most noise was outside linebacker Arvell Reese. The 6-4, 245-pounder posted nine tackles, a sack and flashed all game against Manning. Reese was not a top 100 player before Week 1, but has to be moving rapidly up boards.
