A sketch of the Titans' new depth chart

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Below is my updated take on the Titans’ depth chart.

I admit that I don’t know how to stack new, low-ranking undrafted free agents, who I’ve added based on reports and listings at spotrac and Over the Cap. So there is some guesswork. But with other known quantities, I have some insight and some inklings.

Measuring the offensive personnel: How have the Titans done around Ryan Tannehill?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans talked a lot early in the offseason about being great around Ryan Tannehill.

Trading A.J. Brown didn’t sync up with that theme.

Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis and the mentoring debate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nobody wants Ryan Tannehill in therapy as a result of football.

Nobody connected to the Titans or neutral wants the really bad game in the divisional playoffs that created the wound and the sleepless nights that prompted him to return to therapy, the first time he ever went seeking a path out of a dark place.

“It's a deep scar,” Tannehill said of the results of the Titans’ ugly playoff exit as the AFC’s one seed to Cincinnati at Nissan Stadium on Jan. 22. "Every time I closed my eyes I kind of re-watched the game. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep for weeks. I was in a dark place, and it took me a while, a lot of work to get out of it.

Titans took right approach to revamp tight end

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After Jonnu Smith bolted for New England and a rich free-agent deal following the 2020 season, the Titans overestimated what they could do with tight-end leftovers.

They got 8.2 yards per tight-end catch with the lesser group of tight ends as compared to 9.9 the year before.

Some speed, some size, some surprise: The Titans 2022 draft class

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The returns are in and the Titans have assembled a nine-man draft class, two-thirds of which is offense.

They filled out the bulk of their needs, with two receivers, a right tackle (for the third year in a row), a tight end, and depth at running back and in the secondary.

The giant stories, though, were the subtraction of playmaker A.J. Brown, who was dealt to Philadelphia, and the third-round pick of hit-or-miss quarterback Malik Willis.
